Please be aware that in the past 2 weeks a backpack (including a wallet) and a laptop have been stolen from the UFV Abbotsford Library. Please do not leave your things unattended, even for a short period of time. If you are the victim of a theft or see any suspicious activity, please contact library staff who will contact Security.

Films on Demand - NEW

We received a lot of great feedback from faculty about Films on Demand's Master Academic Collection, so we have licensed this collection through the BC Electronic Library Network.

Films On Demand is a Web-based digital video delivery service that allows you to view streaming videos from Films Media Group anytime, anywhere, 24/7!

UFV students and faculty can access a streaming video collection of 8,200 titles in a variety of academic subject areas.
  • Humanities and Social Sciences
  • Business & Economics
  • Science & Mathematics
  • Health & Medicine
Included with the subscription is access to FMG Archival Films & Newsreels Collection. Look for the option to limit your search to primary source newsreels.

Special features allow users the ability to organize and bookmark clips, create and share playlists, personalize folders, and manage their entire collection through a robust administrative reporting system

Click here for the title list; these are titles with Canadian distribution rights    The Master Academic collection currently sits a bit above 8,200 titles with more being added each month.  There are 2012 titles in FOD and it usually takes 2 to 6 months for new titles to be added to the platform

For more information contact Heather Compeau, or your liaison librarian.
