Looking for documentaries? Try Docuseek’s Canadian Collection 2nd ed.


Do you know that we have subscription to Docuseek’s Canadian Collection 2nd ed., which provides access to more than 1400 streaming videos from Bullfrog Films, Icarus Films, Fanlight Collection, dGenerate, Kartemquin, Mediastorm, TerraNova, and more? It is called Canadian Collection, because it includes the documentaries that are licensed for use in Canada.


This collection features documentary films on many subject areas, including sociology, media studies, anthropology, Indigenous studies, geography and the environment, peace and conflict studies, diaspora studies, political science, history, Latin American studies, urban planning, Asian studies, racism/anti-racism, health and wellness, psychology, and more.

 

You may browse the films by subjects and collections, or search the films from Docuseek’s Advanced Search page, which allows user to search by keywords, title, tags, year of release, length, distributor, and other criteria.

You can also access Docuseek Canadian Collection through the Library Databases. Select the “Articles & Databases” tab from the Library’s homepage and click “Browse all research databases” to access the A-Z Databases.

UFV Library currently has a large collection of  DVD's from Bullfrog Films and Icarus Films. Most of them will be available online through the Docuseek’s Canadian Collection 2nd ed. Enjoy your favourite documentaries!
