Campus Cards -- Chilliwack

After today, December 12th, the Chilliwack Library will no longer be issuing Campus Cards. This is in part due to a renovation that is about to begin at the Chilliwack Library. For Winter Semester, the SUS has extended the shuttle grace period to 3 weeks, January 6 – 24. So Chilliwack students can ride the shuttle to Abbotsford to get their Campus Card at the Campus Card Office (S1101).

New Demand Driven Acquisition Program

We have launched a new Demand Driven Acquisition program on the Proquest E-Book Central platform. Records for over 16,000 new titles are now showing up in our Books & DVD's catalogue.
The library will pay a short term loan fee for titles that are viewed once or twice, with titles being purchased on the third use.

The program provides us with access to new titles from approximately 90 academic publishers, including ABC-CLIO, American Chemical Society, Brill, Canadian Science Publishing, Cornell University Press, Elsevier, Guildford, Jessica Kingsley, John Wiley, Palgrave MacMillan, Purdue University Press, Royal Society of Chemistry, Stanford University Press, and the University of Montreal Press.

We have also started an Access-To-Own DDA plan with CRC Press, Duke University Press, Human Kinetics Press, Morgan & Claypool, Sage, and University of Chicago Press. These titles are on the Proquest EBC platform as well.

For questions, contact Patti Wilson at loc. 4277.

New gateway to our Library Catalogue!

Starting this fall, we’ve introduced a new gateway to search the UFV Library’s book and video holdings.
The search box on our Books & DVDs page now takes you to a customized version of the Discovery Service.  Results include all the holdings in our UFV Library classic catalogue, as well as 180,000 subscription e-books from EBSCO and selected open access book collections.
The biggest advantage is that search results are much more relevant and known titles are much easier to find.
Fans of the classic catalogue can still access it using the links provided.
For any questions, please contact us.
