Persistent Links updating for Academic Search Premier and CINAHL with Full Text

This year two of our consortially negotiated databases licenses have been upgraded to versions with more full text. Academic Search Premier is now Academic Search Complete, and CINAHL with Full Text is now CINAHL Complete.

A side effect of this upgrade is that persistent links to articles in course readings lists should be updated to reflect the change.  The old links will work for at least another 3 months, but the links should be changed to direct students to the correct version.

Basically, the same article in ASP and ASC have slightly different URL’s because of the database code name.  The same goes for the two CINAHL versions.

Article: Teaching Literature in an Age of Text Complexity.
Academic Search Premier link:
http://proxy.ufv.ca:2048/login?url=http://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&db=aph&AN=91666808
Academic Search Complete link:
http://proxy.ufv.ca:2048/login?url=http://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&db=a9h&AN=91666808

 Example 2:

Article: Patients', Caregivers', and Providers' Perceived Strategies for Diabetes Care

CINAHL with Full Text Link:

CINAHL COMPLETE link:

To update links, change the links with db=aph  to db=a9h  and the links with db=c8h to db=ccm.

The library will deal with changing links in our SIRSI Course Reserve system and any Libguides for your courses.  However, we may not be aware of other reading lists you have created on your own.
