Looking for information on how other Universities are responding to COVID-19?

Access the The Chronicle of Higher Education on and off campus

If you are interested in seeing how other institutions are preparing to reopen and implementing safety measures such as social distancing, you may find some answers in The Chronicle of Higher Education. Based in Washington, D.C., The Chronicle is an online newspaper that has current and relevant news articles dealing with topics that are broadly applicable to University faculty and administrators. Users can also sign up to receive their popular newsletters, such as Academe Today and Chronicle Review.

The UFV Library provides access to the premium articles of The Chronicle of Higher Education on and off campus. 

To access the premium articles off campus, you can create a personal Chronicle account:
  1. Go to https://proxy.ufv.ca:2443/login?url=https://www.chronicle.com/issue/archive.
  2.  Log in with your UFV credentials.
  3. At The Chronicle site, click on “Log in” on the top right corner. 
  4. Click on “Create an Account”.
  5. Create a free account using your UFV email address. (You can sign up for newsletters during the registration process.)
  6. Activate your account by confirming your email address.



You can also sign up for newsletters after you create your Chronicle account.
  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Click your name on the top right corner.
  3. Click Newsletters.



When you receive the Newsletters, you can click on the headlines and log in with your Chronicle username and password.
